Skills evaluations are held every spring for all participants and in the fall for premier league try-outs.

During the skills evaluation every player will be assessed by an impartial coach (usually a rattler's coach or a coach from a different age group) on various skills. Each player's skill level is then added up to achieve an overall score.

These scores are then used to determine which players make the premier league teams (if a player wishes to try our for that team).

The top 10 scores are selected from the list to form the first premier leagues team. The coach of that team may then choose the last two players from amongst the next 5 players. The coach of the premier league team must have a child playing on the team who is within the top 15 players trying out (if any of those parents has requested to be a premier coach).

If it is deemed by the VP of Recreational baseball that there are enough players with appropriate skill levels to field a second premier league team for that age group, the procedure above will be followed again choosing from the next highest scores on the list.

Players who are not chosen for a premier league team and who are not on an existing team's protected roster will then enter the draft in the spring, or be evenly distributed to an existing team in the fall based on skill levels.

To participate in the draft a parent should print out the attached form and bring it to the skills evaluation at the date and time that will be published on the website.
